Terms and Conditions

Booking any service implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. Services are offered on the Altimood.com website, via an engagement ticket, or via a quote from Alice Dumoulin or Robin Delattre.

For all-inclusive trips (services involving multiple providers — such as a trek with accommodation in mountain refuges), the applicable terms and conditions are those of the tour operator managing the trip. These are always sent with the sales contract. Most trips we guide are managed by Grand Angle.

The conditions described below apply exclusively to activities, courses, and private bookings (guide fees).

Booking and Payment

Unless otherwise stated, a booking becomes effective upon receipt of a deposit of at least 50% of the total amount shown on the sales contract, quote, or engagement ticket. The balance must be paid no later than the day before the service.

Accepted payment methods are bank transfers and PayPal. Payment details are provided on each engagement ticket, sales contract, or quote.

Service Delivery

Only the contract (quote, engagement ticket) is binding regarding dates, prices, and program.

The client accepts that the service may be modified at any time by the mountain guide leading the outing due to weather conditions, snow conditions, avalanche risk, access routes to the meeting point, or the fitness level and physical/psychological condition of participants.

In winter, if there is insufficient snow, an alternative activity will be offered to the client in place of the planned winter activity.

Lack of snow is not valid grounds for cancelling a guided service. See the cancellation conditions below.

Depending on who provides the guiding, the service may be invoiced through the individual business of either Robin Delattre or Alice Dumoulin.

Cancellation

Cancellation by the Client

If the client cancels less than 6 working days before the service, they must pay the full balance of the contract.

If the client cancels more than 5 working days before the service, they are not required to pay the balance. The deposit will be retained.

Cancellation must be made in writing by post (Robin Delattre or Alice Dumoulin, L'Esparcelet, 05800 Saint-Firmin, France), SMS (07 69 44 78 66), or email (heyaltimood.com ).

The services offered by Altimood are personalised and require customised preparation; therefore, the right of withdrawal does not apply. A cancellation will be accepted within 48 hours of booking, provided the service has not been delivered.

Cancellation by the Guide

At any time, force majeure circumstances — such as weather conditions or forecasts that could seriously impact participant safety, or sudden physical incapacity of the scheduled guide — may lead to cancellation. The client will be fully refunded. The client cannot claim any other compensation.

What if it rains? Cancellation due to rain or bad weather

Unless you're "made of sugar," rain or lack of snow are not valid grounds for cancellation.

If the decision to cancel comes from us due to conditions that could seriously impact participant safety, you will be fully refunded without further compensation.

If the decision to cancel is made by the client, the deposit and possibly the balance are due.

In practice: we always adapt the outing as best we can to stay on the enjoyable side. Umbrellas are often great allies, and we won't turn your trek into a "Survive the Rain" course.

Disclaimer

Participants are individually responsible for their own equipment. The guide(s) cannot be held liable for damage or theft of personal equipment.

Equipment loans are provided at no extra charge. However, in case of loss or damage to loaned equipment, the guide will invoice the client for repair or replacement costs.

Insurance

As professionals, we carry professional liability insurance. This does not replace personal insurance, which you should take out to protect yourself against the financial consequences of an accident during the activity.

We strongly recommend taking out personal insurance covering civil liability, search and rescue, assistance, and repatriation — whether through your home insurance policy, membership of a mountain federation, or insurance offered by outdoor sports retailers.

This "personal accident liability" insurance is mandatory for all-inclusive trips and bivouac courses. It must cover mountain accidents without altitude restrictions, as well as travel-related risks (repatriation) and sports risks (hiking).

It is your responsibility to provide us with proof of insurance showing your policy number and a 24/7 assistance telephone number.

Image Rights

By participating in our outings, each participant accepts that photographs and videos may be taken by us, another participant, or a professional photographer/videographer we have engaged.

These images may be used for communication purposes on various media, including our website, social media, and any other communication channels.

Accordingly, participants transfer their image rights and authorize the use of their image in this context, without time limit and without financial compensation.

If a client wishes to object to the use of their image, they may request this and their wish will be respected.

Note:

Dispute Resolution

The parties will endeavor to resolve any disputes arising from the performance of the contract amicably. If no agreement can be reached, disputes will be governed exclusively by French law.

In the absence of an amicable agreement or response from the professional within a reasonable period of one month, the consumer client (as defined in Article L.133-4 of the French Consumer Code) may, if a disagreement persists, contact the competent mediator free of charge, registered on the list of mediators established by the Consumer Mediation Evaluation and Control Commission pursuant to Article L.615-1 of the French Consumer Code:

Société Médiation Professionnelle, 2 Rue Marc Sangnier, 33130 Bègles, France.
